Elementary
As children transition from the Preschool program into elementary school, our goal is to help them develop the necessary skills and independence that they will need throughout the rest of their educational journey. Our kindergarten programming builds upon the learning and language experiences from the Preschool to Pre-Kindergarten programs. As children transition to our school age program, learning experiences become increasingly structured to promote early literacy and learning skills in mathematics, reading, writing, science and social studies. Interactive experiences promote the continued development of age-appropriate language and communication, academic and social skills. Students participate in various special area classes, such as ASL Literature, Library and Literature, Social Skills Lab, Health and Physical Education, Science and Art. We believe the social curriculum is as important as the academic curriculum. All students in grades K through 5 have structured recess and lunch together, daily. On Fridays, we acknowledge our hard work at Morning Meeting and focus on showing Pride, Strength, and Determination as well as practice our CARES values of cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self control.
